In tough competition, IPnett won the contract for upgrading DGC’s network. With this, collaboration that began in 2005 will continue. The contract also encompasses a 3-year service agreement and is worth more than SEK 3 million.
DGC develops and sells solutions for data communications, hosting and telephony to the Swedish business market with a nationwide network. The company was founded in 1987 and has collaborated with IPnett since 2005 when their new MPLS core was delivered.
“We know from before that they have been very pleased with our collaboration with Juniper and the JUNOS operating system. That they now will be continuing with IPnett for new upgrades is something we see as an acknowledgement of our conscientious Nordic initiative in quality and innovative solutions,” says Fredric Wallsten, sales manager for IPnett’s Carrier Networks Division.
The reason for DGC needing to upgrade its network is the continuing strong influx of customers and constantly increasing traffic volumes.
“We are very pleased with IPnett and are happy that it was confirmed once again during the procurement that they are the right collaborative partner for us,” says Patrik Gylesjö, technical manager at DGC. “The new 10G IP core and the MX platform’s scalability provides us with increased flexibility, so that we can develop new services for our customers.”
The goal is to complete upgrading by the end of the year.
